Finding a good acupuncturist in the sea of practitioners can be hit or miss, so be sure to ask about credentials and experience. A highly trained professional will carry a doctoral degree in Acupuncture after spending many years in an accredited school.

Dr. Puramo Chong is the founder and chief doctor of Yedam Well-Being Center. Dr. Chong graduated from Kyunghee University in Seoul Korea after six years in a bachelor program, two years in a master program, and completing a doctoral degree in Oriental Medicine after three additional years of study. Over 28 years ago, in Seoul, Dr. Puramo Chong began practicing Korean Constitutional Medicine (KCM).

The treatment methods he used, though little known in the U.S are based on the classification of human beings into four types of constitutions. For his success in treating difficult diseases, he was named as one of Korea’s 50 Most Distinguished Doctors in the entire country. In 2005, he came to the U.S and is now practicing in Annandale, VA.

Hoyoon Chong, L.Ac.

After studying biology in US Irvine, CA, Hoyoon decided to become a doctor of oriental medicine followed by his father and grandfather who are also doctors in this field. Receiving his Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, He finally became the third generation doctor of oriental medicine, national board certified acupuncturist licensed in the state of Illinois. Hoyoon believes that wellness is rooted not only in the condition of the body, but in the spirit as well. Therefore, it is essential that we become aware of the ways our bodies work so we can learn how to take care of ourselves. Hoyoon continues to study Oriental Medicine and supplemental therapies to enhance the scope of his treatments and offer a wide variety of therapies.

Shin In Cha, L.Ac

Shin In Cha is a National Board Certified Acupuncturist in the states of Illinois, Virginia, and California. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at South Baylo University. After completing his degree and internship, he has practiced as a Special Acupuncturist for Cosmetic and Obesity Program in California. To further enhance his skills and knowledge, he had sought well-known acupuncturists in Korea. He practiced medicine under several masters and acquired a variety of skills and experiences. Also, he served as a main medical corpsman for two years in South Korea Army to treat generals and soldiers. After coming back to U.S., he worked with Dr. Chong in Virginia, focusing on the pain control and management. Currently, he works as the Chief Acupuncturist at Yedarm in Niles, Illinois. His specialties include treatments for pain, chronic syndromes, obesity, and women’s health..
